Minutes of meetings of Department division heads, 1915-1922; of the Agriculture Commissioners, 1935-1937; and of the Board of Agriculture, 1938-1959, 1982-1999; and advisory councils and committees to the Department, 1983-1999, relating to the appointments of agricultural committees, policy, regulations, procedures, and hearings and decisions concerning the inspection, grading, marketing and promotion of agricultural products, and the operation of the State Fair. The records received for this series from 1983 on consist of agendas, minutes, and related material from the advisory councils and the Board. The related agenda material includes copies of testimony before legislative committees, position statements, proposed legislative correspondence supporting or opposing proposed legislation, and administrator reports. The processed portion of this series is summarized above, dates 1915-1959, 1982-1991, and is described in the register. There are additional accessions dating 1983-1999 which are described below.

The State Board of Agriculture was created in 1897 (Chap. 301, Laws 1897), assuming the duties of the State Agricultural Society.
